The Indian flag is a tricolour with dark saffron at the top, white
in the middle and dark green at the bottom. In the middle of the
white band, there is a blue wheel that indicates the Dharma Chakra,
the wheel of law. This is a Buddhist symbol dating back to 200th
century before christ. The wheel also indicates that there is life
in movement and death in stagnation. The dark saffron stands for
courage and sacrifice, the white stands for peace and truth and
the green for faith and fertility.
